This book starts by introducing the four dogs and telling the reader about each dog's job except for one. You have to read to discover her job. Throughout the telling about each dog and it's job, he repeatedly asks "What's Lenore's job?" There is a herder, a therapy dog, a guard dog and Lenore, but what is Lenore's job? 

In the end Lenore has what appears to be the least important job of all; however when explained in it's entirety,  she has the most important job of all. A heart warming book about the lives of four beautiful dogs.
