Tessa travels with her father to an auction and, while bidding for a book to be sold in their store, they are accidentally given an ancient diary and tapestry. This begins Tessa's adventure as she accidentally plucks a thread from the tapestry that is the thread of Will De' Chauncey's life.  Trapped in the tapestry by a witch named "Grey Lilly", Will has longed to be free. Now with Tessa's help, he struggles to escape Grey Lilly's clutches. For Will, there is more to Tessa than she knows and he must trust her even though he is sure she has betrayed him before.
