Classification: Fiction Sixteen-year-old Miranda Tennant arrives in York, England, with her parents and brother, trying to recover from the terrible accident that killed her best friend. She realizes she can see ghosts, but is still confused on how to deal with them. She becomes attracted to a ghost that lives across the road in an abandoned house but knows there is no way any thing can be done about the attraction. Soon she realizes that she has fallen in love for the first time with Nick, who is also suffering from the loss of his brother, and can see ghosts as well Miranda is very confused throughout most of the story because she is trying to learn how to deal with ghosts that pop up through most of the story and her feelings toward Nick. She and her brother survive unbelievable incidents that make you wonder what is going to happen next, or if there will be a sequel.
The story is very captivating and keeps your mind wondering. I would recommend it to young adults who like mystery and ghost stories. There is an AR test available for this book as well.
