BANDIT'S SURPRISE

Author (last name first):

Marshall Cavendish Children/2010
Grade Level/ or Age Level:
2nd-5th
Classification: Fiction
This is a story about Bandit, a cat that is surprised by a new kitten his master brings home one day. The story progresses from Bandit being unnerved by the kitten, Mitzy that touches his things, but he eventually warms up to her. The essence of the story is of having a new sibling in a family. The age range of this well illustrated picture book is for younger children in elementary school that have a hard time to younger siblings. The book is an easy read selection and has amusing comments from Bandit such as "Puwrtecto". I would recommend this book because children would subconsciously relate to the story. The characters of the cats are very broad. Bandit is older and territorial while young Mitzy is playful and adventurous.
